The fights here involve my boyfriend, so of course it leans full shonen.MAPPA absolutely nailed these scenes, the execution is insanely good. Still, I feel like in the original, Ryoga’s frustration hit much harderbut the humor lands perfectly. I really loved it.

Mappa's fighting scenes here are amazing! If not for the light colors, I would think this is from a serious shounen manga. Ryoga's a comic character as well 😂 Anyway, the ending part shocked me lol my jaw dropped. Ranma's bit insensitive there though...

This episode was really fun because Ryoga finally shows up and brings a whole new energy to the story. His rivalry with Ranma feels intense but also funny at times. It made everything more chaotic and interesting, and I really enjoyed watching their dynamic.

The fight scene in the park is a standout. It’s fast, creative, and uses the environment in a way that feels fresh. But the real gut-punch is the ending.

The unique styles for the intro is growing on me. I love that they try a lot of new rhings for this anime while retaining the vibes of the original. On to the episode, Ryoga Hibiki's introduction in the series is just so hilarious. We're about to get even rowdier in this love web entwining Akane and Ranma as a major change occurs by the end of the episode. Don't skip this one!

Nabiki turning the fight into a whole business? charging students to watch? selling footage? this girl is built different. Ranma and Ryoga going at it and the curse keeps messing everything up. 💸

More character focus here—less action but still entertaining. Some slower parts but interactions carry the episode. Worth watching. 😌

Ryoga's intro is gold, and Akane's pig love kicks off huge comedy. Nonstop action and ramps up the rival crew perfectly.

EPISODE CONTEXT

After Episode 3 leaned into romantic tension between Ranma and Akane, Episode 4 widens the scope by introducing Ryoga Hibiki as a lasting rival figure, pulling the series back toward its martial arts roots. Sitting at the one-third mark of this 12-episode season, this is a crucial expansion episode that establishes a key character whose presence will fuel conflicts and complications going forward. It marks the transition from initial setup into a more complex web of rivalries and relationships that the back half of the season will build upon.
