EPISODE REVIEWS

Yeah... this first episode hits hard. It got straight to the point and didn't sugarcoat how rough things were. I was a little lost at first because it introduced so many characters so quickly, but it didn't take long for me to get into it. It definitely got me interested enough to keep watching. Just be prepared because it's not an easy watch.

Starts incredibly strong. The sense of dread and realism of post war Japan is phenomenal. The tone is heavily messed up, but you instantly get attached to the group. The guard and doctor feel a bit like Saturday morning cartoon villains though, but I'm hooked.

This was a good first episode, with a strong introduction to the main cast and the issues they face. It was fairly information-dense, with a lot of character names and background information thrown out all at once, making it hard to absorb. Intriguing, but not mind-blowing.
