Episode Context

Arriving at episode 37 of 47, this is the apex of the Kalos League tournament arc, the finals themselves. It directly follows Ash's semifinal victory in 'Kalos League Passion with a Certain Flare!' and feeds into the decisive 'Down to the Fiery Finish!', making it the first half of the series' most consequential battle and a critical setup for the final stretch of XY&Z.
