Episode Context

Coming off Ash's hard-fought semifinal victory against Sawyer, episode 36 of 47 serves as the final quiet moment before the Kalos League finals against Alain and the larger Team Flare crisis that dominates the season's endgame. Mairin's introduction to Ash's group deepens the web of relationships that will matter enormously when loyalties are tested in the episodes ahead. This is the last real breath the show takes before XYZ shifts into its most consequential stretch.
