Episode Context

Sitting at episode 55 of 93, this marks the midpoint stretch of XY where Ash's team continues to take shape ahead of later gym battles and league competition. It follows the more intense 'Facing the Grand Design!' arc, offering a deliberate tonal cooldown while introducing Goomy, whose personal growth arc becomes a meaningful through-line in upcoming episodes. This is the beginning of a new companion storyline that pays off significantly down the road.
