Episode Context

Sitting at episode 77 of 136, this marks a critical inflection point in Ash's World Coronation Series journey, his debut Ultra Class battle after grinding through the ranks in earlier episodes. The stakes have officially escalated, and this matchup against Volkner establishes the new caliber of opponents Ash will face as he pushes toward the Master Class. It sets the competitive framework for the back half of the series, where every battle carries significantly more weight.
