Episode Context

Sitting at episode 63 of 136, this falls near the midpoint of Pokémon Journeys and serves as a character-focused cooldown after the Galarian Slowking encounter in 'Not Too Close for Comfort!' The friendly competition format gives Ash, Goh, and Chloe room to develop their bonds with their Pokémon in a low-stakes setting, laying emotional groundwork before the more dramatic 'Absol Absolved!' that follows.
