Episode Context

Coming off the Sobble-focused episode where Ash and Goh encountered the timid Water-type, episode 29 deliberately pivots away from the duo to develop Chloe's personal arc and her bond with Yamper. Positioned early in the series' 136-episode run, it establishes Chloe as more than background scenery, laying emotional groundwork that pays off as her journey gradually becomes a core thread alongside Ash and Goh's. The following episode, 'Betrayed, Bothered, and Beleaguered!', continues this deeper exploration of Pokémon-trainer dynamics.
