Episode Context

Episode 123 of 136 places this deep into the Masters Eight Tournament semifinals, the climactic bracket that the entire Journeys series has been racing toward. It follows 'It's... Champion Time!', which established the semifinal matchups and raised the stakes, and feeds directly into 'Valor: A Strategic Part of Battling!', continuing the Ash-versus-Cynthia confrontation as the series barrels toward its finale. This stretch of episodes represents the narrative payoff for Ash's long World Coronation Series climb.
