Friede turning Beheeyem using skill swap against Spinel was actually crazy and the timing on that lightning rod play with Captain Pikachu really showed his expertise in a high level battle

I can't believe the Explorers knew about Laqua the whole time and they just let Friede and the crew do all the heavy lifting for them while they watched from the shadows like creeps

Spinel really thought he was a genius with that Skill Swap play, but Friede was just three steps ahead of him the entire time and it was satisfying to watch
ryme_361's avatar
ryme_361
The way Captain Pikachu landed that point-blank Thunder Punch after Friede figured out the Telepathy trick was so satisfying and it shows why Cap is the leader of the boat

Gibeon really thought he could control a Zygarde and watching it just go on a total rampage and ignore his orders was honestly the highlight of the whole episode for me

You can tell how much Liko and the others have grown when they start pulling off moves like that Sucker Punch to trip Garganacl without even needing to use Terastallization

Coral and Sidian probably should have won those battles with their Tera forms, but Liko and Dot used the environment so well to turn the tables this time

My mind is still spinning from Gibeon revealing the Explorers were just waiting for Terapagos to power up, so they could reach Laqua. I felt so bad for Dot and Roy when they realized they were basically helping the villains the whole time, and then Zygarde just starts wrecking everything while that pink smoke shows up and it makes the ending feel so massive

Winning against a Scream Tail even after it Terastallized was a huge win for Roy and it really shows that type matchups matter more than just raw power in these big fights

adjuchas_ace_478
I can't believe the Explorers actually wanted us to succeed this whole time just to use Terapagos as a key, and it makes all our hard work feel a bit cheap even though Liko had that great speech about doing this for themselves and not for their enemies while Friede outsmarting Spinel with that Dark Tera play was easily the best part
jugrad_juggernaut_482's avatar
jugrad_juggernaut_482
That pink smoke rising at the end felt so ominous and seeing the Explorers basically admit they were just using the crew to open the barrier was a massive shock for Roy and Dot

Liko standing up to Sidian and saying this journey belongs to her was such a massive moment because she finally stopped letting the Explorers define why she is even out there

I felt genuinely intimidated when Gibeon showed up with a Zygarde 10 percent because that is a massive threat and it explains why the Explorers are so dangerous

Friede revealed that Captain Pikachu has Lightning Rod which was a cool twist but the way he countered Spinel with Charizard afterward was the real highlight

I was so stressed when Spinel used Skill Swap on Cap but Friede pulling out the Dark Tera Charizard was such a cool play and I love seeing them actually use strategy like that

Spinel is easily the most terrifying member of the Explorers and the way he manipulated the battle with Beheeyem had Friede really struggling for a minute there
inu_no_taisho's avatar

All three kids winning their battles without needing Terastallization is such a clear sign of their growth and it was awesome to see them beat the admins on their own
genos_guardian_118's avatar
genos_guardian_118
That whole double battle strategy really worked for me since it felt way more technical than what we usually see in the show lately. Seeing Captain Pikachu absorb that electric hit with Lightning Rod was a huge shock to me, and then Friede baiting out the Tera Blast finish was just the perfect way to shut down Spinel's smug attitude about his Beheeyem
spike_spiegel's avatar

I was so confused when Cap lost his ability but Friede having a hunch about Telepathy to save the day was such a smart move that worked out perfectly in the end

That was so much action at once and seeing everyone fight their own Explorer admin made the whole base feel like a war zone instead of just one big brawl

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 86 is the direct payoff to Episode 85's arrival in Laqua, escalating from discovery into full-blown conflict between the two rival factions. This confrontation represents a major turning point in the Horizons narrative, crystallizing the rivalry with the Explorers into its most consequential battle yet. The outcome of this clash sets the trajectory for the next phase of the story, making it essential viewing for anyone invested in the overarching Laqua storyline.
