Ludlow trying to hide his secret identity while everyone in Olivine City already knew him as the big actor was hilarious and charming

I can not believe Ludlow was a famous movie star this whole time and his Sharpedo being his co-star is the funniest thing this show has done in weeks

Olivine City looking exactly like the old series really makes the same world theory feel real and that little nod to the past was cool

Finding a clue about Entei at the very end made this feel like such a solid way to bridge the character stuff with the main quest so it definitely did not feel like a filler episode

Mamoru trying to figure out if Ludlow was actually Guy Silver was so relatable because he just wanted his childhood hero to be real and his little Wooper was adorable

The return to Olivine City hit me with so much nostalgia and it is cool to see how much the harbor has changed since the old days

The way Murdock was losing his mind because of that Tatsugiri getting stuck in the water while he was trying to make food made me laugh because it was such a chaotic rescue

Ludlow really blindsided me, turning into Mighty G the movie star! Watching him pull off all those classic hero moves, even with the intense time limit, had me totally pumped, and I'm honestly still reeling that Quagsire was the genius directing it all behind the scenes.

Some people might call this a filler episode but the character development for Ludlow was way too good to ignore and he is definitely more than just the boat guy now

Mighty G jumping into action with Sharpedo was such a cool highlight and it really explained why Ludlow has been so mysterious this whole time

Dot calling out Siskel for not accepting that people age was so blunt, and I really liked her attitude during that whole confrontation.

The three minute limit on the Mighty G form is such a funny trope to include and it makes me wonder if he ever actually gets into a real fight that lasts longer

Olivine City looks exactly the same as the old series and that really makes the same universe theory feel real now

Ludlow taking the changes in his hometown so well was a great contrast to Siskel acting like a child about his hero getting older and having a different life

It was cool to see Olivine City again and that hint about Entei at the end really makes the next part of the trip feel worth it

That Tatsugiri stealing the sushi tub felt so forced just to get a rescue scene and Kilowattrel getting dizzy for no reason was just weird
sheikah's avatar

My heart broke a bit when Mamoru realized his hero had aged and I think that whole theme of moving on was handled better than most adult shows because Ludlow is the realest member
sakura_strength's avatar

Mamoru being a massive Ginjiro fanboy was so funny and his poor Wooper getting stuck in that whirlpool really raised the stakes for the rescue

Finally getting a lead on Entei was a relief because the search felt like it was stalling and now the crew actually has a direction to go since that map guy was actually useful

I found it hilarious that Quagsire was basically the special effects department for all those old B-movies, and it makes me appreciate the big blue guy even more than before.

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode follows the team's encounter with a former member who may hold clues to Entei's location in 'Wynaut?! Wy-Yes!' and functions as a deliberate transitional piece. While it deepens Ludlow's backstory and gives the cast room to breathe, it's positioned directly before 'Entei's Fierce Battle Cry!', making it the calm before a significant escalation in the Entei pursuit storyline.
