That kitakami festival scene was perfect, and having Carmine lose every challenge to Friede made her introduction feel right for this setting.

That kitakami countryside atmosphere made the whole body swap nonsense feel like a strange dream that actually brought the main duo closer together

Roy talking in that raspy voice while he was stuck in Crocalor's body made me laugh way harder than I expected and it made the swap hilarious

It felt a bit like a distraction from the search for Briar but the comedy with the broken synchro machine made it worth watching anyway

Crocalor walking around as a human while Roy struggled to crawl on the ground was comedy gold and the facial expressions were perfect

My heart melted when they started singing together to get the fire going because it shows Roy and his partner are totally in sync regardless of what they look like

I was so bummed when the machine broke because I really wanted to see Liko and Dot swap places but the Roy and Crocalor chaos was enough to keep me entertained

I really wasn't expecting a body swap episode today, but Roy acting like a crocodile was hilarious. Seeing him and Crocalor use their song to make fire even while swapped was actually pretty touching, and it showed how deep their bond goes. Carmine being a brat to Friede only to get outplayed every time was a great way to introduce her.

Liko and Dot trying to hide the swap from Murdock while the machine was going crazy felt like classic pokemon comedy and it was sad seeing the machine break before they could try it

I honestly think this was one of the funniest episodes in a while and seeing Roy stuck in his crocodile body while Crocalor just walked around normally was such a trip plus getting to Kitakami makes me so excited for the rest of this arc and Carmine trying to pick a fight with Friede every five minutes was the icing on the cake

Getting to see Kitakami was great, and I noticed they changed the mask theme to an apple harvest which was a really interesting switch from how the games did it

Kitakami looks exactly like the game and the harvest festival atmosphere really made it feel like being back in the dlc plus the music they used for the song was so nostalgic

Seeing the synchro machine from the games pop up for a body swap plot was a fun surprise even if the whole thing was just a goofy distraction before the main quest starts again

I was laughing so hard at Roy struggling to run as a Crocalor because it was so stupid and funny and that yakisoba song actually made me care about their connection more

The festival outfits were adorable, and even though it was a silly body swap plot the whole thing felt like a way for them to grow closer as a team

That brief battle between Friede and Carmine was exactly what the show needed since her Sinistcha is so cool and it was a great break from the body swap madness

Kitakami looks so good in the anime and they really nailed Carmine being a total brat during her introduction

Roy struggling to control his own flamethrower while he was stuck in that tiny body was so funny and the way they actually used their song to get through it was such a nice touch

I laughed so hard when Roy was trying to run on all fours and accidentally set things on fire while Crocalor was just acting like a normal human and that body swap machine was pure chaos

My heart melted when Roy and Crocalor started singing their little song to flip the yakisoba together and I did not expect a body swap episode to make me feel this much

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 68's pivot into new adventures, this episode establishes the Kitakami Village locale and introduces Carmine, both of which become important in the episodes that follow. While the body-swap storyline is largely standalone, the setting and new character introductions lay groundwork for deeper regional mysteries ahead. It functions as a narrative bridge—lighthearted in execution but strategically positioning the Rising Volt Tacklers for the next phase of their journey.
