I feel so seen with Liko being all awkward and overthinking every single interaction at school and then she gets a cat that just scratches her and leaves

I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed the change in animation style, and the colors look so bright during that fight between Charizard and Ceruledge on the roof. Seeing Friede show up at the last second to block that attack was cool, and the way the environment actually got damaged made the battle feel like it had real weight.

The way Oshawott was just gleefully splashing water everywhere while Ann gave it a big hug was super cute, but it made me feel for Liko even more, seeing her get all antsy in class about picking her own first partner Pokémon. I totally get her nervous energy, it's a huge decision!

It is definitely weird watching a show without Ash but Liko is a breath of fresh air because of how relatable her social anxiety feels during that bus ride and the mystery with the pendant gives me major Studio Ghibli vibes, and that cliffhanger with the shield activating while they fall off the roof was a massive way to end the premiere
