Ash has collected several Gym Badges in the Hoenn region. Team Rocket steals Ash’s badges. A wild Wynaut steals the badges from Team Rocket and Wynaut keeps using reflecting attacks tactics back at anyone trying to stop it.

Episode Context

Arriving just after Ash's hard-fought eighth badge victory at the Blackthorn City Gym, this episode is a transitional breather as the group shifts focus toward the Johto League Silver Conference. With only about 19 episodes remaining in the original series' Johto run, it provides a playful interlude that keeps momentum without advancing major plot threads. It sets the stage for the escalating stakes and tournament preparation that define the final stretch of the Johto saga.
