Perfectly sets the tone of this series by starting it off with a poop joke episode. Would recommend watching the English dub as it's pretty much perfect casting.

The first episode perfectly established what kind of series this will be. Chaotic, vulgar, absurd, and most important of all, FUN. With one episode having two separate stories, the pace of each entry is pretty much relentless and doesn't let you go until the very end.

I love how this anime is so chaotic and full of adult humor. I also like how unique and adorable the art style is, the way it suddenly shifts into something more detailed looks so beautiful. The number of times Panty sleeps around is honestly kind of wild though lol.

Episode Context

As Episode 1 of 13, this premiere is pure foundation, introducing Panty, Stocking, Garterbelt, and the core loop of battling ghosts in Daten City to earn their way back to Heaven. There's no prior setup needed; it drops viewers directly into the chaos and establishes the episodic, dual-segment format that carries through the season. Subsequent episodes expand the sisters' world and escalate the absurdity, but everything clicks or doesn't based on whether this opener's anarchic energy lands.
