A really great episode, in which a lot of information is revealed, the tension is palpable, and you have to pay close attention to every detail of what’s going to happen, since it’s important to the story.

Once again, Gaen really is a good character for having the info and lore-dumping role to the main characters. That said, seeing Araragi having to buy something on behalf of Kanbaru is very funny. She really do be the uncanny Kouhai indeed.

We spend a good chunk of this episode on a lore dump about a new adversary that the characters have to face, but they're hinting at something more. The flashback itself, setting aside the stylistic technique it was presented with, raises numerous questions that should make the ending really interesting. If they really want to go with the vibe they have been setting up halfway through the show, I'm curious about the execution. Let's see.
