This show has been in a gender crisis since episode one. Why is there a random monkey with bananas again??? It's because of Renge isn't it. Everyone looks so ridiculous even Haruhi broke character and laughed. Peak comedy.

This episode is peak comedy! Facing another club is pure chaos along with an interesting Benio-sama. The tone is lively, having no dull scenes in this ep and the tension is rather calming. Good to see where the random banana peels came from, though.

This episode was very funny, especially since new characters from another school were introduced. The rivalry between everyone was very amusing to watch, it added so much chaos to the episode.

Episode Context

Arriving at the one-third mark of the series and following the Host Club's eventful beach trip, episode 9 shakes up the formula by introducing external rivals from St. Lobelia, injecting fresh energy and new character dynamics. This isn't a one-off encounter, the Zuka Club returns later in the season, making this episode essential groundwork for an ongoing comedic rivalry. It also deepens the recurring question of Haruhi's relationship with the Host Club by presenting a genuine alternative.
