[Oshi No Ko] Episode 1
⚡ ALL REVIEWS
Unique setting for an anime that has a dark theme underneath it. Goes to show that you can really portray a great story and make it as casual as it can be, and at the same time, be capable of exploring mature tones just as well.
Movie-length episode but the pacing and the world-building justifies this duration. Usually for anime in this genre or theme, the art style could be a bit over the top, bright and colorful but Oshi no Ko does it brilliantly as everything is just right.
It’s been a while since I last genuinely appreciated an anime’s art style and animation. Oshi no Ko really hits the spot. Rie Takahashi is legendary, and Yoasobi did a masterpiece with the opening song. It ties perfectly to the atmosphere and theme of the story.
Duration wise the first episode is equal to movie, the animation might pretty but story wise it potrays the harsh truth and dark side of entertainment history.. making you want to know and watch more
so far the first episode gives you the vibe that you have to watch more episodes to know the reason why she ended that way, and to think of the twist of faith with the other two worth the watch
This episode is kinda giving you idea what happen in entertainment industry in reality. its kinda like a half movie tho even if its just an episode. their are some occation that really must watch to understand. i enjoy it
Oshi no Ko is a must-watch if you enjoy "meta" storytelling or thrillers like Perfect Blue. It treats its audience intelligently, refusing to sugarcoat how fame is manufactured.
To be honest, Oshi No Ko's first episode felt more like the entire film than just a typical opening scene. It stood out right away due to its speed, emotional depth, and unexpected turns. Gorou, a rural doctor who is secretly a major lover of the idol Ai Hoshino.
This Anime completely changed the perspective I had about the entertainment industry, it shows how tough and brutal it can be behind the scenes. The visuals and the Character development is breathtaking, The soundtrack and cinematic art is chef's kiss. highly recommend.
Story Start-up was excellent. Aqua and ruby characters took great build in the episode. their Mother character is also good. Can't wait for to watch next episode.
Movie length first episode but honestly keeps you engaged in the story. Shows the story of and Idol, doctor, and patient who's lives get intertwined in a crazy tragic predicament.
Not an episode, but a movie. The critique of the idol industry is cynical and sharp. The shift in color palette from bubbly neons to cold greys does so much storytelling. Visually stunning and emotionally exhausting, it changes what you think the show is about
beautifully presented. how idol's live, didn't expect the plot twist to be in the first episode even tho it's 1-hour long.
Episode 1 was an absolute emotional rollercoaster. The runtime flew by, but that ending shattered me. I never expected the story to shift from idol fluff to a dark revenge thriller so fast. Watching the light fade from Ai’s eyes was haunting. A masterpiece. Animation's peak.
The way it starts from cheerful and going down to being so shocking and sad at the end will really make you crave and wanting more episodes, wanting to know more about what will happen. it's a really must watch anime!! highly recommended
1.5 hours worth of great quality animation, amazing music, and story setup
