Seeing a child Akane brings me so much joy :((( She looked so adorable! We were also finally able to see why her opinion of Kana changed, and the idiom "Never meet your heroes" truly applies in her case.

The tone feels a bit more serious here, with pacing that supports the rising narrative pressure. Character interactions carry more weight, making the buildup feel more meaningful.

The visuals were good, while the voice actors' performance was simply incredible. The actresses who did voices for Kana and Akane delivered fantastic performances. I especially liked the story line that the show presented along with its visual language.

Episode Context

Sitting at the midpoint of the 13-episode season, Episode 7 pivots from Episode 6's broader character development to spotlight the Akane-Kana dynamic with surgical focus, making it the emotional centerpiece of the season's middle stretch. The groundwork laid here feeds directly into Episode 8, 'Trigger,' where the consequences of this episode's revelations and confrontations begin to ripple outward. This is the kind of turning-point episode where internal character shifts start generating external narrative momentum for the back half of the season.
