The animation continues to be solid, and the mood is as dark as ever. The white plum blossom perfume that Heizo notices on his attacker is a nice touch—the scent is associated with ephemerality and early death.

You can kinda see where things are going here, but it still works because of the mood and music. It’s more tense and moody than the earlier ones, with a pretty sad tone throughout. Not the most subtle, but I still liked it. If you’re into slower episodes that focus more on mood and emotion than action, this one’s worth watching.
