I usually go into these expecting the bare minimum but the production value here is actually quite high for once. It is a bit weird seeing such nice animation paired with a plot that feels so recycled and predictable, and I liked the initial forest encounter best because the visuals were way better than anything else in the episode

Imagine falling off a cliff and waking up in a literal paradise filled with beautiful women Noboru is living a fantasy and the transition from the woods was pretty smooth

Five different scenes in one go is a lot to take in and that bit with the principal and the sister was particularly wild The show does not waste any time getting to the point

The story is exactly what you would expect and it follows every single trope in the book You have seen this plot a hundred times before and it does nothing new with the setup

I was stunned by how good the character designs look and the lighting in that forest scene caught me off guard Most of these look so cheap but this one is polished and clean

Daka and her group ridding Noboru of his despondency is one way to handle a main character feeling lost in life

Putting this on the same list as normal anime is a bold move when the content is this taboo and problematic

My head was spinning after that ending because the relationships they are hinting at with the principal and the daughter are so wrong

The forest scene where the beautiful woman appears looked great but the immediate cliff fall was a bit much and felt sudden

You really have to look past the extremely messed up family stuff to appreciate how good the art actually looks for this kind of show. The comparison to Usagi Drop is definitely there, especially with the blonde daughter, but it goes in a way more problematic direction. It is strange seeing high quality animation used for these taboo themes and controversial relationships

Seeing how Noboru just stumbles into a literal paradise after almost dying is kind of hilarious, especially with Daka leading the charge there

The blonde stepdaughter dynamic is giving off some major twisted Usagi Drop vibes and it makes the whole thing feel pretty weird

Noboru falling off a cliff just to wake up in a place like that is such a bizarre start to the story

I stayed for the art because it actually looks better than most of these shows and that Daka girl is something else
