Synopsis
Sixteen-year-old Yuuki Hase finally finds the courage to speak to his crush and ask her if she wants to become friends. The object of his affection, Kaori Fujimiya, is a quiet and reserved girl who cuts herself off from everyone and does not spare him the same blunt rejection she gives everybody else. Some time after, Yuuki finds her eating lunch on the roof where she secludes herself during break. He decides to start meeting with Kaori every day in the hopes of beginning to understand her better. The more time they spend together, the more she begins to open up to him. However, nearing the end of the week, she starts to push him away once more. It is then revealed to him the reason for Kaori's cold front: at the end of the week, her memories of those close to her, excluding her family, are forgotten, as they are reset every Monday. The result of an accident in middle school, the once popular and kind Kaori is now unable to make friends in fear of hurting the people dear to her. Determined to become more than just one week friends, Yuuki asks her the exact same question each Monday: "Would you like to be friends?" Because he knows that deep down, Kaori wishes for that more than anything.

The plot holes are finally explained in this episode, although I don't necessarily think it covered anything. Still, it's nice to know to be able to grasp the concept of the whole plot of the show. Do I still think it's unrealistic? Yes. But do I understand? Also yes.
For a show that's usually very vanilla and mundane, this episode was incredibly stressful. The new kid is a certified POS, and I hate him for ruining everything. Still, it gives a deeper understanding of Hase's resolve, even with all the drama.
If the last few episodes had barely anything going on, this episode had so many things happening all at once. The episode ended on a sour note, and I hope it'll be resolved in the next few episodes.
So glad to see things cleared up between Saki and Kiryuu and Hase and Kaori. This episode also made me think that Hase can be pretty selfless too. Overall this has been a great show and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to watch a slice of life anime with a slightly unusual plot.
We a bit more insight on Kaori's lore regarding her condition. It was a nice change of pace and setting seeing them hangout in different groups. I also get why Hase did what he did but it lowkey makes me really sad he thinks that way too.
Love how Saki has no filter and just says whatever comes to her mind, she adds a comedic touch not in a loud way which I love, she's effortlessly funny. I also love seeing Hase not give up on Kaori when he feels he's at a dead end.
Oooo we get to see more of Kiryuu and Saki in this episode. I think this episode has a lot of chill vibes as there weren't much going on and stuff but I hope from here on we get a bit more of Kiryuu and Saki lol
One Week Friends isn't really known for its art. In fact, I genuinely didn't like its art style until now. But the beach scene, fireworks, and the stars scenes were absolutely marvelous. They could create pretty animations if they wanted to, I guess its an artistic choice to keep their art style as it is.
Love the summer vibes and how it was animated. The whole flow of the outing was nicely paced and easy to follow too. Love how Saki doesn't let whatever circumstances ruin her fun lol. I really liked seeing them hangout together during the summer vacation, it was so cute. Overall really nice vibes
Shougo's face at the start took me out lmaoooo. Anyways it's nice to see how far Kaori has come now that she's talking to a lot more people, it's actually pretty endearing to watch and see her development as she comes out from her shell
This episode talkes a bit more on Kaori's lore which is good as it has to be explained in this series somehow due to the unusual nature of it. I also like how Kiryuu has just been tagging along even though he seems super nonchalant about it. Looking forward to seeing all their friendship grow
Lol I actually didn't expect Saki to have such an air-headed character. She seems like a really easygoing and chill character and somehow relates to Kaori a bit in terms of her condition. Saki is a nice addition to the cast and I actually look forward to seeing her more
Nothing much happened in this episode, but at least we got a bit of development on Kaori's condition. We're also seeing Hase-kun gaining some #ballz. So far, this episode has just focused on the characters' improving dynamics, but there is not much to say.
This episode provided more background on Kaori's condition and introduced her supportive mother. Although I don't really think it made her condition believable, or the plot of the whole anime realistic, I guess it's important that the show gave an "insider's preview" on Kaori.
