Saitama casually defeated the Deep Sea King with a single punch that literally clears the entire rainy sky is hype , but him intentionally playing the villain to protect the reputation of the fallen heroes is mad respect. He is the ultimate definition of a true hero.

Episode Context

This is the culmination of the Deep Sea King conflict that ramped up in episode 8, bringing the aquatic villain's rampage to a decisive head. Positioned at the three-quarter mark of the season, it serves as the emotional thesis statement before the final stretch, the aftermath and broader existential questions carry into episode 10's 'Unparalleled Peril' and the season's endgame. Everything the show established about Saitama's isolation and the Hero Association's hierarchy converges here.
