Returning to the present day after all these weeks of Oden's life and that final shot of Toki in the flames was such a haunting image

It was absolutely wild watching the Scabbards just barrel through all those pirates while the castle was a blazing mess; I felt so much urgency for them to make it, my breath hitched seeing them fight so desperately to reach their goal.

Momonosuke not crying when Kaido grabbed him was impressive for a kid his age and it shows he has that Kozuki blood in him for sure

I can't believe Toki went out like that and her prophecy gave me actual chills because of how it ties everything together for the future of Wano

Toki is such a legend for staying behind and her final speech about the nine shadows was the perfect way to end this whole flashback story

Kaido dropping Momonosuke like he was nothing but trash really showed how much of a monster he is and it made that burning castle scene feel like a nightmare

I actually liked how long this flashback took, because seeing Toki stand her ground in the fire made her death hit way harder than in the manga

The way they showed Toki getting shot was way more brutal than expected, and it felt like a horror movie for a second there

That prophecy at the end was such a great way to close out Oden's story and it makes you realize why the people of Wano kept hope for twenty years

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned directly after the devastating execution of Kozuki Oden, episode 975 deals with the immediate, fiery aftermath and what it means for the Kozuki retainers and the future of Wano. It serves as the emotional bridge between Oden's tragic fall and the prophecy-driven time-skip that will eventually connect the past to the present-day Wano rebellion. This is a turning-point episode that transforms grief into purpose, laying the foundational stakes for everything the Straw Hats and the Scabbards are fighting toward.
