EPISODE REVIEWS

I felt so bad for Moria because he really cares about his crew even if they are weird zombies and seeing him realize Absalom is gone was rough

Shiryu getting the clear fruit is actually terrifying because he was already a beast with a sword and now you just wont see him coming

Episode Context

Coming off episodes focused on Luffy's imprisonment and the Straw Hats' scattered efforts to regroup within Wano, Episode 917 serves as a deliberate narrative detour, shifting attention to external power dynamics involving Blackbeard and Moria that will have major ramifications down the line. It enriches the stakes of the Wano arc by showing that the world isn't standing still while Luffy fights his battles. This interlude sets the stage for escalating tensions that will intersect with the main storyline as the arc progresses toward its larger confrontations.
