EPISODE REVIEWS

The mochi escape took way too long in the anime but seeing Katakuri lying on his back eating donuts made the wait worth it for the sheer shock of his teeth

Episode Context

Sitting deep within the Luffy vs. Katakuri confrontation in the Mirror World, Episode 856 acts as a turning point that humanizes the Sweet Commander and shifts the dynamic of their fight from pure power struggle to something more personal. Previous episodes established Katakuri as an untouchable force, and this installment deliberately undermines that image, setting up the emotional and thematic groundwork for the climactic stretch of their battle ahead.
