The amount of recap and old footage in this episode was way too much even if the nostalgia for Alabasta is strong and it slowed down the momentum

Episode Context

Coming directly off the Straw Hats' departure from Zou, this episode marks a sharp pivot from crew-focused adventure to global-scale political storytelling, beginning the lead-up to the Reverie arc. It reintroduces key figures like Vivi and Shirahoshi, whose arcs stretch back hundreds of episodes, grounding the upcoming political intrigue in deeply personal stakes. This transition episode lays essential groundwork for the alliances, tensions, and power plays that will define the episodes ahead.
