I was sobbing when Corazon kept smiling even though he was covered in wounds just so Law would remember him that way instead of a scary face

It is so messed up how Doflamingo treats his own family like tools and seeing him pull the trigger on Corazon was hard to watch, but it makes Law's vendetta feel so much more personal now and the way the silence fruit was used to hide those final cries made the ending hit even harder than a normal death scene would

The sound design in this episode was so smart because you could tell the exact second Corazon died when Law's screaming finally became audible to the enemies

Corazon using those silence powers to let Law escape while he died was so brutal and the way the sound finally kicked back in for Law's crying was just devastating

When I saw Law stuck in that treasure chest, just watching Corazon die in the snow, it totally shattered me. My mind immediately went to everything Law's done since, and it just makes his whole revenge against Doflamingo feel so incredibly earned.

Everything makes sense about why Law wants Doflamingo dead now and that sacrifice from Rosinante was the most selfless thing in this whole arc

I never expected to care about Corazon this much and seeing Doflamingo shoot his own brother just made me hate him way more than I already did

The stuff with Franky and the factory felt a bit slow compared to the huge reveal about Law's past but seeing Zoro deal with Pica kept the momentum going

Doflamingo killing his own flesh and blood is next level evil, and Law carrying that burden for thirteen years just makes you want to see him get his revenge

Pacing in Dressrosa is still kind of a crawl but hearing Law talk about Corazon and his vow made the wait for his backstory feel worth it

Luffy just sitting there listening to Law open up about his trauma was such a good moment for their alliance and it really shows how much they trust each other now

The reveal about Corazon being Doflamingo's younger brother was a massive shock and it really sets the stage for Law to finally get some closure in Dressrosa

Law dropping his guard and telling Luffy the truth about Corazon felt like a huge turning point for their relationship and the emotion in his voice was intense

I seriously felt for Law when he started talking about how Doflamingo murdered the person who saved his life and now his whole mission makes total sense

Some of the scenes with Zoro and Pica felt like they were dragging a bit but the lore about the Donquixote brothers was enough to keep things interesting

The reveal that Corazon was Doflamingo's own brother actually changes everything because it makes Mingo look like even more of a monster for pulling that trigger

I am definitely going to miss the old opening song, but the new one has a decent rhythm that might grow on me after a few more episodes. The transition felt a bit sudden though

The mention of Corazon changed the whole mood of the episode and seeing Law desperation to fulfill that old promise was a really heavy moment

Fujitora dropping a giant meteor on everyone is pure chaos and he seems way more reckless than a marine admiral should be with civilians around

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the large-scale tactical chaos of the Colosseum fighters clashing with Doflamingo's forces and Pica's imposing threat, episode 686 deliberately downshifts into emotional territory — grounding the Dressrosa conflict in personal stakes rather than spectacle. It builds directly on the Law-Doflamingo tension that has simmered since the alliance formed, transforming it from a strategic rivalry into something far more visceral. This sets critical emotional groundwork for the climactic confrontations still ahead in the arc.
