A light, character-driven episode that leans into humor and personality. It’s enjoyable but low on narrative urgency.

A skippable episode. The hype died down or cut down from previous episode. From hype to meh. We're expecting a continuation rom previous episode. Watch if you're curious about the little girl that is being chased by the Navy. And about the Elixir of immortality.

I love how, at first, Apis was afraid, but because of the Straw Hats' goofiness, she quickly calmed her nerves. But what secrets does Apis hold? What exactly is her identity? And what trouble does the Calm Belt hold? Overall, a nice kickoff of the filler Warship Island Arc.

The fog scene where the ocean went dead flat actually made me feel a bit uneasy because the Calm Belt sounds like such a lonely place to get stuck with no wind

I know people say to skip the filler arcs but I think the start of this Warship Island story is actually pretty cozy, and it shows how kind the crew is to strangers plus that Eric guy seems like a real threat and seeing them choose to help a random girl instead of heading straight for the Grand Line fits them perfectly

That kitchen mousetrap scene was hilarious and I can totally relate to Luffy always being hungry even if he almost got his fingers snapped off trying to steal food

Watching Luffy pull in a whole lifeboat thinking he was catching a giant fish for lunch was so typical and it cracked me up how the bird flock totally tricked him

Everyone eating those charred lumps of food just to make Apis feel better was such a sweet moment and Luffy pretending it was crunchy was too much

The shift from that crazy storm at the start to the eerie silence of the Sea of Silence was such a cool way to end the episode and make the new island feel mysterious

Nelson Roy is definitely one of the grossest villains so far and the way he just wants to kill dragons for immortality makes him so easy to hate

Luffy using his powers to fish and accidentally dragging an entire girl onto the deck is such a ridiculous way to start a new arc

Entering the Calm Belt felt like a trap and seeing those Marine ships stop right at the edge of the fog really showed how dangerous that area of the sea is

Luffy tried to catch a fish and ended up pulling a whole human out of the ocean and his face was so disappointed because he just wanted lunch

Apis hearing the wind and steering them right into that fog was weird and it makes you wonder if she has some kind of secret power the Marines want

Nami taking care of Apis in the cabin felt like a nice change of pace for her character and I liked her softer side

Watching Sanji try to be a gentleman to Apis while she wrecked his kitchen and served everyone charcoal bricks for dinner was hilarious, and everyone struggling to eat it was even better

Nelson Roy is such a gross villain and his obsession with getting eternal life from dragon bones makes him look even more pathetic compared to the crew and their big dreams

Nami realizing they were in the Calm Belt was spooky and the water looked like glass and there was absolutely zero sound or wind anywhere

I was actually getting pretty excited to see them reach the Grand Line, but this filler stop with Apis isn't too bad so far because of the mystery with the dragons. It got genuinely creepy when the wind just died at the end and left them stuck in the Calm Belt, and I really want to see how they manage to escape

The Marine fleet looked so massive and scary in that storm and then you see Nelson Roy just eating a whole chicken while his men are drowning in the rain

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off the Straw Hats' dramatic departure from Loguetown, this episode pivots away from canon material into the anime-original Warship Island Arc. It serves as the arc's opening chapter, introducing Apis and the central mystery that will drive the next several episodes. Fans focused strictly on manga-adapted content can skip this stretch entirely without losing continuity.
