Introduces an important legend that sets up future narrative weight. The tone is mysterious.

That brief moment with Mihawk at the end looking at the new posters really puts into perspective how far the crew has come since the start

History in this show is handled so well and Noland being remembered as a villain for something he didnt even do is such a massive gut punch

It actually hurt my soul a bit seeing Noland cry during his execution, especially when you realize he was the only one telling the truth in a world full of people who just wanted to call him a fraud

Bellamy and his crew are so annoying for laughing at people who have actual goals and seeing Cricket keep going despite their insults really makes you root for him

The fact that Sanji knew the story about Noland because he grew up in the North Blue is such a cool detail, and it makes you wonder what else he is hiding about his life before he met Zeff. It is wild how the world connects like that and it gives the history of the world and the characters so much more weight

I noticed how quiet Usopp got during the story about the liar and it was weirdly deep seeing him sympathize with someone who was hated for telling the truth

Watching Luffy try to fix the Merry and only making it worse was funny but seeing how stressed Usopp gets about the ship makes the whole scene feel all over the place

Luffy and Zoro getting their bounties raised while Mihawk just watches from his boat makes the world feel so much bigger and it shows the marines are finally taking them seriously

I felt so bad for Noland and his family when they showed that storybook because he was basically murdered for being the only honest man in the room and his legacy is just a joke

Cricket diving into the ocean day after day for a dream everyone mocks is actually heavy and it makes you really want the city of gold to be real
vegeta_vanquisher_45's avatar

Nami got so excited about the potential gold that she almost forgot how dangerous it is to look for a city in the sky and her greed is always funny

I really felt for Cricket when he explained how his family name was ruined by Noland the Liar, and he spends his whole life searching the sea floor because it is such a heavy burden to carry for centuries, and then seeing Mihawk again was such a surprise since he seemed almost proud of how much Zoros bounty went up

Watching Cricket dive into the ocean every single day to find a city that everyone says is fake just to prove Noland right was actually pretty moving

Bellamy acts so smug while he talks down to the Straw Hats but Luffys silence during that scene shows he has way more character than that spring guy could ever imagine

Usopp looks like he is going to have a breakdown over the Merry, and watching Luffy accidentally smash the deck while trying to fix things was honestly painful to see

Blackbeard saying they instead of he when referring to Luffy and Zoro is so mysterious and it makes it seem like there is something very strange about his body

I laughed when Luffy just walked right into Crickets house like he owns the place and then he almost drowned in the ocean while searching for that sunken gold

Mihawk looking at those bounties while the crew talks about Sky Island is such a cool moment and he clearly still has his eye on Zoro after their fight

Sanji mentioning he grew up in the North Blue felt like a random detail but it is interesting that he knew the Noland story so well and it makes you wonder about his childhood

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the crew's rough reception in Mock Town, where Bellamy and others mocked the very idea of Sky Island, this episode pivots toward hope by introducing Mont Blanc Cricket as both an ally and a thematic mirror for the Straw Hats' own seemingly impossible ambition. It serves as a crucial bridge episode, transforming Sky Island from a laughable rumor into a tangible destination with historical roots. The groundwork laid here — Cricket's knowledge, Noland's legend — becomes the launchpad for the crew's actual ascent to the sky.
