i actually felt a chill when vegapunk said the world is sinking and it makes so much sense with everything we know about the sea level rising in water 7

sanji blocking that sword was so cool and the way he saved bonney like that was a huge highlight

I was actually shaking when Joyboy was named as the very first pirate because it connects so many dots about the Void Century that I never expected

Seeing Kaya and the Usopp Pirates again in the East Blue was a nice touch and it really makes the scale of this sinking world announcement feel personal

York collapsing in total despair while the Elders failed to stop the snail is the most satisfying thing after everything she did to betray her own creator

Sanji stepping in to block that skeletal horse guy was cool but the animation during that kick felt a bit off and lacked the weight of a serious clash

The Elders getting so frustrated that they had to telepathically talk to each other for help while York was freaking out in the background made the World Government look so desperate and weak

It was wild watching Usopp stand his ground against a literal demon to protect Robin, especially when you remember how he used to run from everything back in the East Blue

The silent shots of the whales at the very end really made the news feel heavy and it is spooky thinking that the ocean is basically a ticking time bomb for every single person on land

That reveal about the world sinking made me rethink everything about the sea levels rising after Lulusia and it explains why the Elders are so desperate to stop this broadcast

The reveal that Joyboy fought a whole war against the world government nine hundred years ago is such a huge lore dump and I need more answers immediately

My heart sank when Vegapunk mentioned his two sins and then dropped the news about the world drowning and it makes the Celestial Dragons living on top of the Red Line feel way more sinister

Sanji jumping in to block that skeletal horse was so cool, but I felt like the actual fight ended way too fast before we could see him really do anything.

Sanji deflecting that massive blade from the centaur elder with his leg covered in fire was a highlight for me and I thought he looked good but the animation during the fight felt a bit off compared to some of the Zoro scenes lately

rickert_the_smith
I honestly felt the chills when the message finally reached the part about the world sinking, and it explains why the Celestial Dragons live so high up on the Red Line. It was also great to see Sanji jump in against Nusjuro to save Bonney even if the fight was short because the Gorosei are literally terrifying monsters that won't go down
sapphire_321's avatar

Bonney turning into a giant version of Nika was such a shock and it makes you wonder how much more she can actually do with those powers
aobozu_blade_46's avatar
aobozu_blade_46
Vegapunk saying the entire world is sinking into the ocean is actually terrifying because it explains why Water 7 exists and why the Celestial Dragons live so high up and it makes the whole map feel different
arceus_309's avatar
arceus_309
I was not ready for that ending at all, because seeing the reaction of the fish-men celebrating while everyone else was terrified really put things into perspective and everything we knew about the world is changing, plus Vegapunk managed to get the last laugh against the Five Elders even though he is technically already gone from this world and he looked so calm

I still cannot believe Vegapunk actually said the entire world is sinking into the sea and it makes those earlier scenes in Water 7 feel so much more ominous now

Usopp calling out that attack before it hit Brook was a massive moment and it really looks like he might finally be getting some serious observation haki

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 1147 lands at a critical inflection point in the Egghead Arc, directly following 'An Imminent Threat: Stussy and Edison's Resolve,' where the desperate battle to keep Vegapunk's message alive intensified against mounting opposition from the World Government. This episode serves as the dramatic crescendo of the broadcast storyline, consolidating the arc's themes of truth versus power into a single high-stakes convergence. It directly sets the stage for Episode 1148, 'The Lost History: Joyboy, the First Pirate,' promising an even deeper dive into the ancient secrets Vegapunk has begun to unearth.
