Episode Context

Sitting at the midpoint of the 50-episode run, this episode follows directly from 'Who's Ayumi Oikawa?!', which introduced the friction between Mikako's feelings and Tsutomu's easygoing friendliness toward Ayumi. 'The Alighting Angel!' deepens that emotional conflict rather than resolving it, keeping Mikako in a state of unresolved tension. It functions as a bridge episode, laying the emotional groundwork that the next episode, 'All Grown Up', will likely begin to address.
