Episode Context

Coming off Episode 21, 'If I'm Honest...', where Mikako begins confronting what she actually feels, this episode deepens that reckoning by introducing Ayumi Oikawa as a new variable in her relationship with Tsutomu. Sitting just past the series' midpoint at Episode 22 of 50, the show is firmly in its emotional development phase, laying groundwork rather than delivering resolutions. It feeds directly into Episode 23, 'The Alighting Angel!', suggesting the tension building here is about to find an outlet.
