Episode Context

This episode lands at episode 21 of 26, deep inside the Kyoto arc, where Class 2-A's field trip has turned into an all-out crisis centered on protecting Konoka from a dangerous faction. Building directly off the escalating threat established in prior episodes, 'Never Despair' functions as a crucial pressure point in the arc's climax. With only five episodes remaining in the season, what unfolds here begins steering the story toward its final confrontations and the deeper bonds forged between these characters.
