📖 SYNOPSIS
The anime follows Ryōken, a young man consumed by despair after a tragic event steals away his hope. Disillusioned with temples and monks, he finds himself drawn to the preachings of Rennyo, a holy priest who reveals the Buddhist answer to "why we live," as taught by Shinran. Inspired, Ryōken becomes Rennyo's apprentice, finding new meaning in his life. However, their growing following at Honnōdera attracts the ire of other Buddhist sects. Forced to flee Kyoto, Rennyo and Ryōken journey to Yoshizaki in the Hokuriku region, seeking a new sanctuary and continuing their quest to spread their message. The story explores themes of loss, faith, and the search for purpose in the face of adversity.
