Set in 1931 Japan, "Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood" depicts a nation under the absolute rule of 94-year-old Prince Tokugawa Yoshinobu. The city showcases a blend of Meiji era culture, scientific advancements, and the esoteric practice of Onmyodo. However, a dissident group known as Kuchinawa plans to assassinate the prince, threatening the established regime. The government's secret executioner group, Nue, is tasked with eliminating Kuchinawa. Sawa Yukimura, a member of Nue, is driven by a personal vendetta. As a child, she witnessed the Kuchinawa boss murder her family, and she has dedicated her life to avenging their deaths. The series explores themes of revenge, duty, and the struggle between tradition and modernity in a rapidly changing society.
