The moonlit koto scene near the end lives in my head rent free. Everything about this episode is quiet and bittersweet, the crumbling yokai, devoted bodyguard, the music. Natsume just keeps on helping even when it costs him. Really classic episode. Feels like a short film TBH.

man the forest clearing was IDYLLIC. the animation of the fingers plucking the strings was detailed. integration of that folk song into the soundtrack? seamless. the tone was melancholic but beautiful. the silence at the end was powerful. 🥁

It's a good episode with a lot of funny moments involving Natsume which make me laugh my heart out. The only disappointment for me for this episode is the plot seems to me a bit average from the previous episodes which I understand to make the pace slower for now for the next one
