My head was spinning when Sasuke's brother showed up at the very end because I did not expect to see him yet

The rain during the funeral made the whole atmosphere feel so heavy and it was like the sky was crying for the Third Hokage

Seeing Iruka comfort Konohamaru at the funeral was so emotional because it shows the Will of Fire is still alive in the village

the funeral scene for lord third really messed me up and it felt like the whole village was actually grieving his death because the rain and the black outfits were so heavy

The village is in such a rough spot now and the loss of the leader leaves the future of the Hidden Leaf feeling very uncertain

Starting the episode without the usual title card made the silence feel so much more heavy while everyone gathered in the rain

Every single ninja showing up to pay their respects proves how much the Third Hokage meant to the community as a whole

I didn't think this show would make me sob this hard, but Konohamaru breaking down at the funeral was just too much. Seeing the village come together to mourn the old man really shows what a grandfather figure he was to everyone. Then seeing Itachi show up out of nowhere at the end has me questioning everything about the Uchiha past.

Watching Orochimaru look terrified because his jutsu failed was a highlight but that fight took way too long to actually get to the sacrifice part and it felt slow

That conversation between Iruka and Konohamaru about why people die really hit the right note and made the funeral feel like a real goodbye for the whole community after all that chaos

The whole village being covered in black for the funeral was such a huge change, and seeing the rain fall while they talked about the will of fire felt right and I was mostly thinking about how different the leaf is going to be without the old man around to keep things together, especially with the threat of the sand and sound still lingering out there

Watching Orochimaru scream while his arms get sealed away felt like a win but part of me wished the old man could have finished him for good

I was a bit annoyed that Naruto acted like he just learned about sacrifice at the funeral when he literally almost died for his friends ten minutes ago but the music was still sad

Itachi standing there at the end for two seconds was more intimidating than the entire sand invasion and it makes you wonder why he is even back in the village right now

the music slowing down and all the different ninjas like Kakashi and Iruka just standing there in silence really sold the weight of the loss, seeing the village unite in grief was heavy

Gaara actually telling Temari and Kankuro that he was sorry felt like a total 180 and it was wild to see Naruto change someone that much just by talking to them during a battle

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 80 lands immediately after the climax of one of Naruto's most pivotal early arcs, serving as the emotional fallout from the devastating battles that shook Konoha to its core. It functions as a critical transitional episode, giving the audience and characters alike time to grieve before the narrative pivots toward new developments and the search for what comes next. What follows will shift the series into a new phase focused on Konoha's future leadership and Naruto's continued growth.
