EPISODE REVIEWS

I am still reeling from the Third Hokage sacrifice because seeing him use that Reaper Death Seal was pure insanity. It was heavy seeing his arms get sealed away and Naruto headbutting Gaara to wake him up from the Shukaku trance was the perfect way to end that fight. This really changed everything for the village, and I love Naruto for it

Episode Context

Sitting deep in the Konoha Crush arc, episode 79 follows the escalating chaos of Orochimaru's invasion and the Third Hokage's desperate stand, carrying forward the consequences of those monumental confrontations. The Naruto-Gaara dynamic that has been building since the Chunin Exams reaches a critical juncture here, serving as the emotional anchor for the invasion's resolution. This episode helps transition the series from the invasion's peak action toward its emotional and political aftermath, setting up the grief and rebuilding that will reshape the Leaf Village going forward.
