EPISODE REVIEWS

Orochimaru is as slimy and intriguing as he can get. Kakashi's scene here was so cool!

The Sharingan is looking to be an amazing thing as each episode passes by. I love how a lot of people became wary of Sasuke bc of this battle

Episode Context

Following the grueling survival phase of the Forest of Death, episode 39 transitions into the Chūnin Exam preliminary rounds, where the field of remaining genin must be narrowed through direct combat. This marks a significant tonal shift from team-based endurance challenges to individual proving grounds, and the battles that unfold here will directly shape rivalries and character trajectories heading into the main tournament bracket and beyond.
