sasuke in cat ears doing a cat paw collection mission is peak filler energy, the team 7 flashback stuff is kinda cute but it's pure side quest vibes with no real stakes

Choji smashing those tonfas was the highlight because Ruiga was such a jerk and seeing him lose his water source made the fight so much better

That cliffhanger with Hinata on the ground is so frustrating because of how annoying the princess has been the entire time and Naruto better handle this in the next one

I think Naruto using his head to trick Ruiga into a dry spot was the best part of the whole episode and it almost makes me forget how much I hate the princess and her whining

The way Naruto figured out how to beat Ruiga by moving the fight to a dry area was actually pretty clever and it makes this filler arc feel a bit more worth watching even if the princess is irritating

It is wild that a filler episode actually gave Naruto some good tactical development with that dry area trap and Ruiga stood no chance once those sticks were gone

I really wasn't expecting Naruto to be that smart with the dowsing rods, but it was a nice change of pace even for a filler episode. The princess is still driving me crazy though.

The fight with Ruiga was decent because of how Naruto disabled those water sticks, but man the princess is such a drag on the whole story.

Ugh, I was so annoyed when that princess took down Hinata like it was nothing; seriously, my girl needs to step up her game, because that felt so out of character for a Hidden Leaf ninja to be embarrassed like that. I'm really hoping someone puts that princess in her place soon, she's got it coming after that display.

Seeing how much of a brat that princess is when she knocks Hinata out makes her attitude so hard to stand but at least Naruto was actually using some tactics to beat Ruiga for once

Naruto really needs to chill out about the high rank missions because he is going to get himself killed if he jumps into an S-rank right now

Sasuke looking totally ridiculous in cat ears while trying to maintain his dignity was a highlight and the mission at the cat fortress was surprisingly fun

I usually skip these filler episodes because they feel like a waste of time, but seeing Sasuke forced to wear those cat ears was absolutely worth the watch. That flashback with Itachi was actually really sweet and it adds a layer of sadness to their current situation since you can tell Itachi really did care about his little brother back then

This is obviously filler but the backstory about the cat fortress and the paw encyclopedia gave the Uchiha clan some much needed personality

Watching the cool and brooding Sasuke get forced into a cat disguise was the laugh I needed after all the heavy stuff lately

The reveal about Itachi training Sasuke through a silly game was such a nice touch and it makes me look at their childhood so differently now

It was so weird to see Sasuke in those cat ears, but the way he handled the mission shows he is still a total pro

Naruto complaining about doing D-rank missions again feels very relatable and he just wants to prove he is ready for the big stuff already

I was surprised by how much the Itachi flashback moved me because the paw print game made their sibling bond feel so much more tragic

Sasuke wearing cat ears is the funniest thing this show has done and seeing him try to stay serious while looking like that was hilarious

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode is part of the Peddlers Escort Mission arc, picking up directly from 'The Mystery of the Targeted Merchants,' where the team identified escalating threats during their assignment. It deepens those combat challenges and sets the stage for 'The Byakugan Sees the Blind Spot,' which continues exploring the mission's evolving dangers. Sitting at episode 189 of 220, this falls squarely in Naruto's lengthy filler block between the main story's conclusion and the series finale.
