Tenten and Neji finally getting a mission together is a nice change of pace even if the plot feels like a cartoon mystery show at times

I found it cool how Neji was confused because his Byakugan couldnt see anything inside that armor and it made the ghost feel way more threatening than a normal ninja warrior

The cursed warrior looked like a cheap toy and the whole mystery felt like a bad episode of scooby doo where you already know who the villain is five minutes in

I am struggling to get through these filler episodes and seeing Naruto act like an idiot while Neji tries to stay serious is just painful to watch

It feels like the show is stalling for time and having Tenten and Neji stuck in this boring ghost story is a total waste of their potential

I thought this was going to be the Pain arc because of the episode number and then I realized it is just some random ghost samurai and I am so disappointed

Who actually cares about the Land of Birds and why is this arc taking so many episodes to explain a basic ghost mystery

At least the animation during the brief fight with the ghost was decent but the story is so convoluted and boring that it is hard to stay interested

I am so tired of these filler arcs that go on for way too long and this ghost samurai thing is probably the worst one yet

The mystery of the cursed warrior is so predictable and I wish we could just get back to the actual story instead of these random missions that do not matter

Watching Neji use his Byakugan to look for a literal ghost is pretty ridiculous and the whole Land of Birds arc needs to end already

I honestly thought this ghost warrior mystery was going to be cool when the armor first showed up, but watching Naruto and the others run around this birds kingdom just feels like such a chore. It is so hard to care about the politics of a place we will never see again and I just want the manga canon to return

Naruto and Tenten arguing about the ghost is the only thing that keeps you awake because the rest of this political stuff is so confusing

The Land of Birds feels like a bad filler and the ghost samurai mystery is basically just a Scooby Doo episode without the talking dog

I really wanted to like Neji being back on a mission but this ghost samurai plot is dragging so much and I am just bored out of my mind right now

You can tell the animation budget took a hit for these filler episodes and the cursed warrior design is not very threatening at all

Watching these guys chase a ghost feels like such a step down from the intense battles we just had. The pacing is totally gone

Everything about the Land of Birds feels like a generic cartoon and the mystery of the ghost warrior is not nearly as interesting as the writers think

My interest in the show is hitting a wall. This whole cursed warrior arc is confusing and it feels like a waste of time after the Sasuke search

Neji and Tenten getting some screen time is the only reason to even look at this ghost mystery. Even then the story is just a big mess

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting deep in Naruto's back half at episode 162 of 220, this is a filler arc opener that follows a lighthearted standalone episode ('The Appearance of Strange Visitors') and pivots into a more serious, multi-episode mystery. It establishes the central supernatural threat and key local characters that will carry through the arc, leading directly into 'The Tactician's Intent' where the investigation begins yielding real suspicions. For viewers tracking the filler landscape, this is the start of a self-contained storyline well removed from the main canon.
