EPISODE REVIEWS

I thought it was cool how Naruto and Sakura acted on their own to find Sasuke and it makes the filler feel more like the actual story for once

Episode Context

Episode 138 sits deep in Naruto's extended filler stretch that dominates the back half of the original 220-episode series. It directly continues the Fuma Clan storyline introduced in Episode 137, where Naruto's team first clashed with these adversaries, and it builds toward Episode 139's 'Pure Terror! The House of Orochimaru,' pushing the group closer to a confrontation tied to Orochimaru's shadow. This mini-arc serves as one of many filler detours before the series transitions into Naruto Shippuden.
