The way the rain started falling right as the fight ended made everything feel so much heavier. Sasuke is officially a rogue ninja now and Naruto just has to live with that loss

Watching Sasuke stand over Naruto and then just turn his back was so cold. He got the win he wanted but he looks more miserable than ever walking toward Orochimaru in the dark

Sasuke sparing Naruto at the end proves there is still some good left in him, even if he did choose to leave. That headband left in the mud says everything about where they stand now

Sasuke actually left and seeing him walk away into the rain like that was painful. He could have finished Naruto off but chose not to and it makes me wonder if he still cares

That final clash between the purple chidori and the orange rasengan was absolute insanity. The animation went so hard and the way the sphere of energy just swallowed everything up was stunning

Seeing the flashbacks of them as kids during the final blow made my chest hurt. I really thought Naruto would pull it off but Sasuke looks like a different person with that curse mark active

I cannot believe Kakashi showed up right after Sasuke vanished into the forest. Seeing my favorite teacher look so defeated while carrying Naruto back to the village in the rain really got to me today

It hurts so much seeing Naruto wake up and realize he failed his promise to Sakura. He worked so hard and fought until he couldn't move but Sasuke still walked away and joined Orochimaru

i honestly cannot believe sasuke really left after all that and seeing him stand over naruto in the pouring rain while his curse mark receded was so heavy because you can tell he still cares but he is just too obsessed with power now and i am just sitting here wondering how naruto is going to tell sakura he failed

The silence after the big explosion was deafening, and seeing Naruto unconscious with his headband scratched up really hurt to watch

it is actually shocking that naruto lost this fight and now everything is going to be different for the village

Watching Sasuke look down at Naruto one last time before leaving was rough, especially since he could have ended it all right there

That transformation for Sasuke was honestly terrifying and the way the wings looked while he was fighting Naruto's fox form made the whole exchange feel genuinely scary

Watching Sasuke just stare down at Naruto like that felt so heavy, because you can tell he was struggling with whether to actually kill his best friend or not. He says he wants power and he wants to follow his own path but then he just walks off into the woods leaving his headband behind while the rain just keeps pouring down

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 134 serves as the decisive climax of the Sasuke Retrieval arc, following directly from 'A Plea From a Friend' where Naruto's emotional appeals failed to reach Sasuke. Everything the retrieval team endured — every sacrifice across the preceding episodes — funnels into this single confrontation at the Valley of the End. This episode effectively closes out the original Naruto series' major narrative throughline and establishes the emotional foundation that will define the story's direction going forward.
