Kankuro’s fury gives a sense of worry and sadness for us the viewer. It shows how much he cares and how worried he is about his brother. Also the leaf getting involved just made this fight 10x better as now we might get to see some key characters come to Gaaras aid

Gaara being taken is a high-pressure situation. Kankuro searched for them for almost all night to find them. Now the most mysterious part is about Sasori; he seems more than just Sasori.

Kankuro really thought he was saving a survivor but it was just a bomb trap and the way he barely made it out shows how cold these Akatsuki guys are

Episode Context

Directly following the fallout of Episode 6 ('Mission Cleared'), where Gaara's dire situation escalates the crisis, this episode shifts focus to Kankuro's desperate response, making the threat personal and immediate. It serves as a critical bridge in the opening arc of Shippuden, transitioning from the Sand Village's internal turmoil toward the Leaf Village's involvement, setting the stage for Episode 8's 'Team Kakashi, Deployed' and the larger rescue mission ahead.
