Episode Context

Picking up directly after 'Ashura's Decision,' where both brothers proved themselves through separate missions, episode 468 brings the Indra-Asura backstory arc to its critical inflection point with Hagoromo's choice of heir. This filler arc has been building the mythological foundation for the Naruto-Sasuke rivalry, and this episode crystallizes that ideological split. The following episode, 'A Special Mission,' pivots back to the present timeline with Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, signaling the end of this extended flashback detour.
