The animation just completely gave up during the group scenes and seeing Tenten talk with a totally still mouth was the final straw for me. It is just a bunch of recycled ideas from earlier arcs but done much worse than the original versions and I wanted to see the Akatsuki do something truly interesting instead of just standing in the background

My eyes actually hurt seeing how weird Shikamaru looked in that one shot where he was basically a giant. I really miss the canon story
