I never really considered the depth of Guy's commitment to the Eight Gates, but watching his dad literally give everything against the Swordsmen made me realize it's a profound, inherited sacrifice. It makes me wonder if Guy always carried that weight, knowing his father's ultimate act was to clear a path for him.
