I can't believe how many other genin squads completely flubbed the bell test, it really makes me wonder if Kakashi always set the bar so ridiculously high, even back then. Thinking about his own tragic past, it's like he was subconsciously trying to save every team from making the same mistakes he saw or experienced, which honestly makes his strictness feel less cruel and more... protective.
