EPISODE REVIEWS

Seeing the kid struggle this much just to break a basic genjutsu is classic Naruto and it reminds you why it takes him so long to catch up to Sasuke

Episode Context

Episode 187 sits within a stretch of flashback-driven filler episodes that pause the main narrative to revisit formative moments from various characters' pasts. It follows episodes exploring other backstories and directly precedes 'Record of the Ninja Gutsy Master and Student,' continuing this focused look at Naruto and Jiraiya's shared history. For viewers tracking canon progression, this block can be skipped without losing plot threads, but it enriches the emotional groundwork for later Jiraiya-related developments.
